The End of Primetime

May 31, 2019

As of yesterday our access to the Lyft API was terminated. Lyft nerver responded about restoring our access to the API. This is saddly the end of Primetime.

Primetime had a good run of almost three years, launching on August 8th, 2016. We thank everyone who used the app and for those who paid for a premium membership. We are sad to see the app go.

Lyft API Closing Down

May 01, 2019

Lyft announced to developers on April 16th, 2019, that their API is no longer open to the general public. Their notice states the API closure begins on April 16th and will continue through to May 30th. For developers who already have API access, they are required to apply for approval to maintain their access to the Lyft APIs.

How does this affect Primetime?

We have applied to Lyft to maintain our access to the Lyft API. So far we have received no response. At this time, we can only assume we will not be getting approval and will lose access to the Lyft APIs by the end of May.

For the time being, Primetime is continuing to work. We have currently disabled the multiple month premium membership In-App-Purchase options. The one month option is still available for users who want to use Primetime until we lose access to the Lyft API.

We will continue to post updates on the blog as this develops.

Surge 1.8 - Fixed Locations

August 12, 2016

We have released version 1.8 of Surge today. This version supports changing the active location from your current position to a fixed postion.

A fixed location can be selected from the active location menu in lower right hand corner of the app. When you add a new location, it will be saved in the list of fixed locations, allowing you to easily toggled between fixed locations. Free users can save one fixed location, and Premium users can save an unlimited number of fixed locations.

If you were using Surge before we were forced to remove support for multiple locations, your old locations will now show up in the active location menu, allowing you to use one of them as your active locaiton.
